Fresh bread, with chocolate cream on top – what a dream! Today we want to share with you a recipe for homemade chocolate spread. The secret ingredient is our fair trade organic cocoa powder that is 100% produced in Ghana, just like our delicious chocolate. It is natural and highly de-oiled and is not only suitable for baking, but also for this chocolate spread.
- 200 g hazelnuts
- 3 tablespoons fairafric cocoa powder
- 100 ml (plant-based) milk of your choice
- optional: sweetener 100 g syrup of your choice (then you also need less milk)
Put the hazelnuts in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius, until they are a little roasted. Take them out of the oven and let them cool completely. Roasting makes it very easy to remove the shells by rubbing the nuts.
Once all the nuts are peeled, put them in a good blender and blend until you have hazelnut butter. This may require some patience, but it is definitely worth it! The mere smell is amazing. Now add all the remaining ingredients into the blender. If you add a sweetener, use less milk. Add the syrup first and then slowly add milk after blending, if the cream needs any more liquid.
Your chocolate spread is already finished! Now comes the best part: scoop the rest of the chocolate spread out of the blender or add some milk and make yourself a delicious hazelnut chocolate shake. Cleaning and indulgence in one.
