Are you a chocolate lover thinking of visiting Ghana or Africa soon? You definitely must experience the Fairafric farm to factory tour, where you also get to make your own chocolates. Amazing, right? This tour is specially designed to help you get a better glimpse of cocoa, its cultivation, harvesting and other related process that finally ends up in chocolate making. You should keep reading, we are yet to get to the best part.

fairafric’s farm to factory tour is an Edu-tourism program organized for people to understand the entire activity of chocolate making from the cocoa pod in the farm to the chocolate bar in the factory. It equally seeks to expose all the “behind the scenes” information that you may never have guessed from the farm to the bar.

1 – Welcome to our ultramodern solar-powered chocolate factory!

As a social-impact company, we understand that many chocolate lovers around the globe want to understand what goes into producing the yummy chocolate bar they enjoy daily. Although some chocolate manufacturing companies have tried to satisfy this need, they have not been able to give them the opportunity to see a real cocoa pod on a cocoa farm. Sounds strange right?

This is where fairafric comes in to take care of this need. Fairafric has invested in a unique farm to factory tour. The tour provides a step by step inclusive experience right from the cultivation to the transforming of the cocoa bean into semi finished products and then finished product, the chocolate bars. As a participant, you get the opportunity to visit an organic cocoa farm, see and participate in the pre & post-harvest processes undertaken before and after harvesting of cocoa pods, understand the cocoa – chocolate processing stages, and also get the chance to make your own hand-crafted chocolates. Yes! you read it right.

The visitor center located in the ultra-modern solar powered factory will host chocolate lovers for the tour. Participants will be briefed and equipped with protective clothing including lab coats, safety boots (factory tour), wellington boots, raincoats (farm tour), souvenirs, learning materials and samples of cocoa products.

Economic importance of partaking in the tour.

A major advantage of partaking in the tour is to help improve the existing socio-economic condition of the cocoa growing community fairafric finds itself and increase one’s knowledge on the entire cocoa value chain. In improving the existing impact that our presence has begun to create, part of the revenue generated will be used for improving the livelihood of the farmers and the community dwellers. Partaking in the tour equally makes you a change maker and this helps you connect to farmers to know what they see, feel and experience in order to cherish the roots of chocolates. The tour also shares the health benefit of going 100% organic and how this translates to protecting the environment.
