Amanase presents: the first impact calendar 'handmade in Ghana'
Our sister company Amanase has come up with something absolutely fantastic: The - now 17(!) - chocolatiers have been hard at work in the in-house Chocolate School and have developed seven new recipes - all of which can be found in the fairest Advent calendar in the world - handmade in Ghana.
Since 2021, Amanase has been training young Ghanaians to become chocolatiers - bringing jobs, education and added value to Africa. The handmade chocolates, chocolate fruits and nuts and the Advent calendar are all produced under the roof of our solar-powered chocolate factory - and are of course organic, vegan and climate-neutral. What's more, all products are made without refined sugar and plastic.
The journey
The journey for Amanase began two years ago: with 5 chocolatiers, brave enough to really shake up the chocolate industry. With the support of over 500 Kickstarter supporters, they were born: the first vegan organic chocolates, handmade in Ghana. Since then, the team has grown steadily and now has over 20 employees: From production and quality managers, shift leads and chocolatiers to designers and marketing managers.
And the next milestone is already in the starting blocks: a handmade Advent calendar - which is so much more than 'just' chocolate.
More than an advent calendar!
Amanase is really shaking up the chocolate industry - this time in the run-up to Christmas. Because who hasn't experienced it: the gingerbread has been piling up in the supermarket for weeks: with too much sugar, plastic and, unfortunately, cocoa that is anything but fairly imported and processed. Amanase is changing that! The impact calendar is an example of how the start-up is living its mission:
