Our Global Vision

Using business to end poverty.

Most chocolate is produced in Europe.
Although the cocoa comes from Africa.

We're changing that.

Our Mission

Perhaps the world's fairest chocolate

Our mission is to build a holistic, climate-positive chocolate ecosystem and create 10,000 jobs in Africa. For true enjoyment, for real impact –
good for you, for people, and for our planet.

Good for you.

Our chocolate stands for true indulgence with a clear conscience. High-quality ingredients, gentle processing, and uncompromising quality ensure a taste experience that not only delights – but also feels good. Fewer compromises. More enjoyment. More value for you.

Good for the people.

We create fair jobs in Ghana, pay above-average cocoa prices, and train the next generation of chocolatiers. This way, more value creation remains where the cocoa grows – and chocolate becomes a real engine for opportunities, dignity, and the future.

Good for the planet.

From regenerative agriculture to sustainable packaging: We are building a climate-positive chocolate ecosystem. Our goal is to create real, measurable benefits for the environment and climate.

Status quo

The problem with chocolate

More than 70% of the world's cocoa grows in West Africa. However, most chocolates are produced thousands of kilometers away in Europe or the USA.
As a result, most of the value creation does not occur where the cocoa grows. For many cocoa farmers, this means they earn only a small share of the global chocolate market.

Missing Value Creation

Cacao grows in Africa – the chocolate is made elsewhere

Most of the world's cocoa comes from West Africa. However, the processing and marketing of chocolate mainly takes place in Europe and North America. This creates jobs and economic value mostly far away from the growing regions.

Living Income

Scarcely any income from cocoa for cocoa farmers

Around five million cocoa farmers produce the most important raw material for chocolate. Nevertheless, many of them earn on average only about 0.78 US dollars per day – far from a living income. This structural imbalance also contributes to 1.56 million children working on cocoa farms (Source: NORC, 2020; OICE Network, 2023).

Monocultures instead of diversity

The environmental consequences of conventional cocoa cultivation

The expansion of cocoa monocultures has massive ecological consequences. In West Africa, over 80% of the original forests have already disappeared, partly due to the expansion of cocoa cultivation. Monocultures deplete soils, reduce biodiversity, and make cultivation systems vulnerable to diseases and climate change (Source: World Cocoa Foundation, 2023; ICCO, 2022).

Our Impact

We create value where cocoa grows.

Skilled jobs

We create qualified, long-term jobs in Ghana. In our manufactory, we train talented individuals, develop skills, and build local value creation. This not only creates great chocolate but also real prospects.

Premiums for Farmers

We pay multiple premiums to cocoa farmers. For each ton of organic cocoa, women farmers receive an additional USD 792.34 – and as part of our DAF program, even USD 1,042.34. For comparison: The Fairtrade premium (cf. fairtrade 2025) is USD 240 per ton of cocoa and is paid as a social surcharge in addition to the minimum price.

Our premiums are not a bonus, but rather the foundation for more stable incomes, greater self-determination, and long-term prospects.

Regenerative Cocoa Cultivation

We go beyond sustainability by investing in regenerative agriculture. For us, healthy soils, increased biodiversity, and climate-positive processes are not a trend, but a responsibility. Our goal: chocolate that not only causes less harm – but measurably gives back to nature.

What We Believe

We know where we're going and won't be stopped. We are authentic and open. We know what we need to work on and are proud of what we've achieved so far. We are kind and look out for each other.

Our aspiration is for nature to benefit from our actions. We believe that the impossible is possible.
